Where is files on demand?

T he new fall creators update for Windows promised to bring placeholders back to Onedrive. But, a few of my friends have been complaining to me about not getting the feature upon updating. So, here I am writing this post on how to enable the files on demand feature. The first thing to check is whether or not is the feature activated. To check go to the settings of Onedrive.Select the annotated section on the settings page. Now, what if, the section is not in your settings tab? Well, then you will have to download  the latest version of OneDrive and install it. Once installed restart your PC and check for the feature. Hopefully, the new feature should now be available for you to enjoy!

Play YouTube in background on Android

Play YouTube in the background on Android Let's be honest we all use YouTube to listen to music. And more than often we have the urge to leave the app and continue with our lives while listening to music. But, for that, you have to shell out cash on YouTube red right? Wrong! There are plenty of ways in which you can listen to YouTube while being in other apps. However, all of them require a browser. This is the method which I use. It involves using the Firefox browser and installing a little extension. And walla you can now play YouTube in the background. The extension is called background video play fix .Go to the link and install the addon on your firefox browser from your phone! This option is the one which most of you are going to use. Because it's done through chrome and other chromium browsers. All you have to do is go to YouTube in Chrome and start a song. Then go to the options and tick the request for the desktop site. All you have to do now i...

What I think of the Fall Creators Update

Microsoft recently updated Windows 10 and dubbed it the “Fall Creators Update”. And I do not know why they are calling it that! Because it is a small update for everyone! And below are the new features which I found out by myself. The Update focuses on UI tweaks and has introduced the new design language from Microsoft being called Fluent Design. Fluent design won't overhaul the complete Operating System. What it does is add delightful minor touches to the OS, to make it feel more. I personally love the design move being dubbed “Acrylic”, it adds subtle transparency to the Apps, making them look gorgeous. The effect is quite similar to that found in Windows 7. The redesign is still not complete and certain segments of the OS is void of Fluent Design. The other big visible change for the users would be the highly anticipated My People hub. Which I will admit did not live up to the hype! The hub lacks any third party support to date and only has Mail and Skype support. So...

Pocket

Pocket Nowadays everyone has more than one computing device. Be it your desktop, laptop, smartphone, 2-1 PC or a tablet, everyone of use at least uses a couple of this devices together in tandem. And everyone needs a good browser to surf the internet ! this leads to a problem. A problem which pocket solves in the most simplistic of ways. I for one use Firefox on my pc and chrome on my phone. As a result it makes it really difficult for me keep a track of my bookmarks ! I mean did save that article on my pc or phone ? Pocket solves that problem by creating extension for popular browsers like Firefox and chrome, in fact it is a built in feature in Firefox ! It simply adds a button called save to pocket( ), by just clicking that button the page which you are currently on will be bookmarked and saved to pocket. Which can then viewed from any device that has the pocket app and is logged in with your pocket account.

Microsoft Land

Recently Microsoft killed of its mobile efforts publically on Twitter. This also meant the death of my favourite mobile OS Windows Phone! While the news of the death of Windows Phone bought with it sadness, time has managed to make me realise that it was necessary. The news of the death of Windows Phone was followed by the news of a new beginning. Microsoft launched a news launcher or home screen for Android and announced that it was bringing Edge to Android and IOS! The made it all clear to me, that Microsoft wanted to survive in the mobile ecosystem like a germ. It wanted to feed off the already established mobile platforms to keep its services alive. It made me ask myself, Why did Android and IOS succeed? The answer: Apple was the first one to the party. Google, however, succeeded for a completely different reason! Google won because they provided services which were popular among the masses. Think about it Google had Gmail, search and YouTube. Three services...

Messenger lit!

I was never really a fan of facebook sites and apps. I hate the Facebook App for Android and loathe the Messenger App. Messenger is Facebook's flagship messaging App. And Facebook has been continuously adding bloat to the App in order to persuade you to switch. It even bought Whatsapp! But, that is all about to change, for the first time I am shockingly finding an App by Facebook to be good! Messenger lite ticks all the box, which a messaging app should consist of. Messenger lite strips the Messenger App of all of its extensions and bots and scannable barcodes and games. It forgoes all those bloats for a feature which should have been on messenger since day one! I am forced to use Messenger, well because everyone who is anyone uses it. So when the lite app was launched, I patiently waited for the App. And when it was finally made available in my country, I was one of the first adopters! I have never looked back since then, I have stated that it focuses on one feature which ...
