Henry's Book of Awesomeness

It is really rare for a movie to get me excited just by its trailer. Book of Henry is that rare movie. The first trailer which showed us a single mother and her two coming of age sons, instantly got my attention add to that the dark mystery of child abuse, which the family is seen trying to stop. That was just the trailer. The movie builds on from that trailer. It gives us a deep look into Henry's life. His relation with his mother and brother. How he is important to them. Then it introduces us to their neighbour, a crooked chief of police and his stepdaughter. From then onwards the movie jumps straight into business. The cast of the book of Henry produces some stellar performance. Naomi Watts's character, who I thought was being wasted, was turned upside down in the third act. Where Naomi makes a lasting impression! Jacob Tremblay from the room also plays the role of the small brother who is overshadowed by Henry really well. But the two characters who caught my eye were He

Ducktales WOO-OO!

30 years! Is the time that the world has survived without a new episode of Ducktales! But, all that is history now. As Ducktales makes its triumphant return to Television on Disney XD. The new series follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and gives us a look into the exploits of the richest duck in the world Scrooge McDuck! Portrayed fabulously by David Tennant. Like the old series, the reboot also focuses on the adventure seeking Scrooge and his nephews. All the member of the voice cast nail their roles and adding to that, has been the interesting storyline! So far we have seen the McDuck family go to the Atlantis, learn about the value of money and take a visit to Funzos. The only griper which I have with the show would be the animation, but, I have gotten used to it. The colours are a little too vibrant for me. Even though the show is for children, it still attracts viewers like me, this showcases the power of nostalgia. To conclude I must say, that the reboot could have

Don't just Re-install, Reset !

Have you used Windows 10? And the new apps dubbed "Universal Apps" which it offers ? If you have, then chances are your have come across some problems. Recently I suffered from a problem in Groove. Groove is my preferred music player and not only that I have even subscribed to the groove pass. So when the app blanked out on me, with all of my music libraries suddenly vanishing into thin air. I got worried. Thinking what might have happened and how to fix it. The only way out seemed to be re-installing Windows! Luckily just when I was about to lose hope, a solution came to me. So, while messing with the settings app in frustration I found a way to reset specific apps. And in this lengthy and boring post, I am gonna show you guys (my tiny reader base) how to do that. So let's start: First Open the settings app and go to Apps settings. Now in the Apps an Features section search for the App you want to reset. Select the advanced option Now all you have to do is p

Star Trek:Not so re-discovered

Yesterday I wrote about the new Star Trek show and showered it with praise. However , little did I know that the second episode was also out on the same day! So today upon finding out about it, I watched the second episode. The second episode begins right where the first on leaves us. Michael is caught by her Caption and is charges with treachery! She then is put in a cell within the ship. Meanwhile, all the Klingon troops arrive and their leader manages to convince all of them to attack . Hence, we see the story take a tried and tested predictable route. With the Klingons overpowering the Star Fleet and destroying them like toys, We see Commander Michael escape her cell and rejoin her Captain at the bridge . Where they compose a plan to defeat the Klingons. But, the story pulls of a plot twist towards the end which I will not spoil for you. The twist for me was the saving grace for the otherwise weak episode. Another weak link of the episode would be its CGI, w

Star Trek Re-Discovered !

I will admit I am a sci-fi fanboy. Most of the series which I tend to enjoy fall into the sci-fi category. Be it Star Trek, Star Wars or Doctor Who. Like every other fanboy, I lost my shit when I heard that Star Trek will be brought back to the television (its rightful home) by CBS.   And return to home it did. The show is kind of a prequel to recent movies in the Star Trek series. It is based on a timeline way before Mr Spock came into existence.   I have just finished watching the pilot episode and I will have to admit the start got me a little nervous.   They start off by showing a Klingon leader giving some sort of a speech and are cut off by our leads Captain Georgiou and her lead commander Michael Burnham being chased and they beamed onto USS Shenzhou . The episode found its stride once we enter the ship. The story revolves around the crew discovering something unusual in the debris. Captain Burnham is sent to examine the object, which later turns out to be a Klingon

King Arhur the legend of misfortune !

King Arthur the legend of the sword: Before it was slaughtered by the critics', this was supposed to be an origin story for our hero Arthur portrayed brilliantly by Charlie Hunnam and is directed by the Sherlock Holmes Director Guy Richie. Richie tries his best to tell the story which has been told by several others before him in a new and interesting way. To his credit, he even achieves that to some extent. The movie tells the story of Arthur son of Uther, who is raised in a brothel and has grown up to be a thug of some sorts. Later on, he discovers he is the true king. A reality which he is not willing to admit. The movie feels unusually grounded, even though it is filled with mages and giant Elephant and an Octopus lady. Guy Richie gives the viewer reason to care for our protagonist and even creates a good antagonist in Jude Law. Jude Law plays the uncle of Arthur and the killer of his father. The build-up to the big fight is gripping and the supporting cast is stellar.

Ad free Utorrent for free ?

Utorrent and its identical client BitTorrent are the most popular app to download torrent files onto your PC! Both are available for free, however, the free version can get annoying to have large ads occupying portions of your screen. There is a way you could make those ads disappear and enjoy an ad-less experience for free! These can be disabled in the advanced settings of the app. To turn off ads and offers, open Options > Preferences > Advanced. Here you'll find a large list of flags for the app and a filter box. Search for and disable the following flags: offers.left_rail_offer_enabled/left_rail_offer gui.show_plus_upsell offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled/sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled bt.enable_pulse gui.show_notorrents_node offers.content_offer_autoexec Disabling these options should make your life as a torrent user a whole lot more easier !

The Breakfast Club: My new favorite movie !

I was not familiar with John Hughes nor his work. I mean I had seen Home Alone, but I never knew that John Hughes was behind it. It all changed when a friend recommended me a certain film called Ferris Bueller's Day off. Suddenly I was fascinated by John Hughes and his movies and was searching the internet like a madman for names of more films by him. The first film I came across while rambling through search results was The breakfast club. I like a fool ignored this film thinking it would be some romantic tale between two teens. And how wrong did I turned out to be? I decided to watch the movie last night to complete my marathon of John Hughes movies. In doing so I realized that I have been ignoring his best work! The movie begins with a narration from the actors stating who they are to their principal Mr.Vernon. According to them each one of them is a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal. They come back to this line at the end of the movie. Then we ar

Take updates into your own hand !

Windows 10 has the feature of automatically updating your device in such a way that you will not even notice when the update occurred. However, there are times when this seamless feature gets annoying when it seamlessly updates during a game or when you are doing a presentation! Causing reboots or data being lost during the game. What if there was a way to stop those random reboots? Well, there is if you are running Windows 10 Pro or higher. How to prevent automatic updates using the Local Group Policy Editor : If you run Windows 10 Professional, you can use the Local Group Policy Editor to quickly change the settings to prevent Windows 10 from automatically downloading and installing updates. By following these steps: 1. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command. 2.Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor. 3.Browse the following path: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\W

Best Podcast App on Windows !

If you happen to own a Windows 10 device and want to listen to podcast. Chances are you use Apple's old and clunky iTunes or are just using your browser ! Which really is not any fun. However there is a place in your PC or Phone called the Store ! In the store you can find apps which are secure, better looking and use less resources ! And in the store you can find an app called Grover Podcast. There are two version of the app available. I use the free version, while there is also a pro version available with added benefits. Like availability on your WindowsPhone (If you own one) and sync features ! The free version does the job well enough for me, but I suggest buying the app if you like it to help the developer. Now to the app ! The free version has two modes dark and light and that is all you get in terms of personalization. The App looks beautiful and is really stable ! It is also feature rich allows you to download podcasts, create a play list and all that. The A

Torrex: The One to beat !

I was a big Windows Phone user back in the days of 8.1. And the biggest problem which plagued the otherwise excellent Operating system was the lack of apps 😑 . So when the Torrex pro app came to the Windows Phone store. I wasted no time to buy the app and try it out to see if it could quench my thirst for torrents. A little after 3years later I am not regretting my first paid app in the windows store at all ! Over the years it has gone through many improvements and with Windows 10 and windowed universal apps this app became perfect. Like every other universal app it is easy on the resources and is simple but feature reach. The app allows me to stream video files while I download them and has almost all of the features which other desktop clients offer and then adds to them with universal apps features like notification and the ability to run under lock screen. Also the bonus feature of familiarity on my phone. Where it is basically the same App It is an App which will give you

The Cat is no more !

The best free torrent client for android is no longer the best ! Today I received an update for Cattorent the and ad free torrent client which I used to use and recommend to my friends and family. Excited to come across a new feature I updated the app immediately, however pure horror was waiting for me. While updating I noticed a new text below the install button called "contains ads" and nothing was same anymore !

So I watched Baby Driver

I live in this country where it is nearly impossible for a moviegoer like me to get to watch all the latest blockbuster with the world! Either the movie does not get released or even worse it gets released and you have to go and waste your hard earned money on a trip to this small filthy room known as the movie theatre here to “enjoy” a movie. Well, I refuse to go through this ordeal, hence I have to wait for the movie to be available on the windows store (my preferred destination for movies and series) and enjoy the blockbusters the way they were meant to be enjoyed. So baby driver a return to the big screen for director Edgar Wright after his infamous exit from Ant-Man is one hell of a ride. Right from its first scene of our lead Baby listening to music while escaping from police. Shows what the movie is about. It is a heist drama wrapped in a musical. The concept is delightfully fresh and coupled with the excellent music track to the scenes, which are classic Edgar in style, m
