Take updates into your own hand !

Windows 10 has the feature of automatically updating your device in such a way that you will not even notice when the update occurred. However, there are times when this seamless feature gets annoying when it seamlessly updates during a game or when you are doing a presentation! Causing reboots or data being lost during the game.

What if there was a way to stop those random reboots?

Well, there is if you are running Windows 10 Pro or higher.

How to prevent automatic updates using the Local Group Policy Editor:
If you run Windows 10 Professional, you can use the Local Group Policy Editor to quickly change the settings to prevent Windows 10 from automatically downloading and installing updates.

By following these steps:
1. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
2.Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
3.Browse the following path:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update
4. On the right side, double-click the Configure Automatic Updates policy.
5.On the left side, check the Enabled option to enable the policy.

6. Under Options, you'll find a number of ways to configure. Select the number 2 to get a notification when the updates are available and if you want or download them, or select option 4 where you can specify the time when you want updates to be downloaded or installed!
7. Finish by clicking Apply then OK.
8. Now enjoy!
Hope this will help you to gain more control over windows 10! And do let me know in the comments if you come across any problems.

The Cat is no more !

The best free torrent client for android is no longer the best ! Today I received an update for Cattorent the and ad free torrent client which I used to use and recommend to my friends and family. Excited to come across a new feature I updated the app immediately, however pure horror was waiting for me. While updating I noticed a new text below the install button called "contains ads" and nothing was same anymore !

Ad free Utorrent for free ?

Utorrent and its identical client BitTorrent are the most popular app to download torrent files onto your PC! Both are available for free, however, the free version can get annoying to have large ads occupying portions of your screen. There is a way you could make those ads disappear and enjoy an ad-less experience for free! These can be disabled in the advanced settings of the app. To turn off ads and offers, open Options > Preferences > Advanced. Here you'll find a large list of flags for the app and a filter box. Search for and disable the following flags: offers.left_rail_offer_enabled/left_rail_offer gui.show_plus_upsell offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled/sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled bt.enable_pulse gui.show_notorrents_node offers.content_offer_autoexec Disabling these options should make your life as a torrent user a whole lot more easier !
