Stranger Things 2 Review

The Duffer Brothers are back with another dose of nostalgia for us. Only this time they have gotten better. Stranger Things season 2 is a major improvement over the previous season! And I love it! But, it is not perfect. That is why I have written this review. Let's talk about the good first and there is plenty of it. The strongest point of the whole show is the cast, and it is showcased to its best. Everybody brought their A game to the game and it showed. Even the new Characters like Mad Max and Bob were terrific! I would have loved to see more of Bob. He was the light in the dark Byers household. He was a proper geek and a delightful person. He is my the favourite character on the show. Old favourites like Hopper are also here and better than ever. I loved how Hopper goes all in on Indiana Jones while investigating. I used to think of Will as the weak link among the child actors, but he proved me wrong. Max is a great addition to the AV gang and adds more girl po

The Best Android Browser

I like everyone used to use chrome on my phone. Well because it is preloaded on to my phone and I also used chrome on my PC. So there was no reason to think otherwise, right? Well, I used to do that before I got into tech. When I was an uninformed user. But you do not need to remain uninformed, as I am here to help you decide which browser is the best for you! Now, if you are heavily invested in the Google ecosystem. then go on keep on using Chrome. By no means is it a bad browser. It is just a tad bit resource intensive. However, if you are open to the possibility of change, then here is the best browser for Android according to me. Brave:   Brave is founded by the co-founder of Firefox. The browser, however, is based on chromium and the blink engine. What this means is that this browser is wicked fast. It looks and feels exactly like Chrome. So Chrome users should feel right at home. But, it lacks the nags of Chrome. For example, it consumes a lot less battery, w

Flagships no longer required?

The last time I used a flagship phone, was way back in 2013 and it was the Galaxy S4. The Exynos variant to be exact, back in 2013 Exynos was not cool. It was miles behind its Snapdragon counterpart and it was visible. My experience with the S4 was horrible. So horrible, that in fact, I haven't had the courage to purchase another Flagship since then on. After that, I switched boat and jumped to the WindowsPhone clad. My first taste of WindowsPhone was from a Lumia 520. The cheapest WindowsPhone! But, the performance at times was better than my less than a year old flagship Galaxy. WindowsPhone was fluid even on extreme budget hardware. Later on, I upgraded to a Lumia 730, which to date I adore. It is for me the best phone ever! The only place where it lacked would be the storage. Then I jumped shipped again to Android and am now using a Redmi 4x. So the point behind me going through my phone purchasing history is to show, that you do not need to break the bank or sel

Do we need Virtual Assistant?

It is something which I stress over and over again. I live in Bangladesh, a small country in Asia. So, it is only natural for tech companies to not think about us when launching new services. Virtual Assistants are taking over the world. Assistants like Google Assistant, Siri, Alexa and Cortana are said to be super helpful in your day to day life. YouTube reviewers adore them and recommend them for your smart home. What the reviewers don't take into account is that all those helpful assistants only properly work in the US. Here in Bangladesh, all these assistants can do is tell the weather and call or text contacts. These smart and intelligent assistants don't even understand our accents. Hence the second feature for call or texting is a hit and miss. Hence, I have uninstalled the Google app from my phone. I do not require to allow Google to spy on me, only so that assistant can tell me the weather. Google and other companies are in simple words ripping us off. We

I switched to the green side

I am a hardcore OneNote user, but the complex and clunky and unintuitive Android app for OneNote has forced me to look elsewhere in search for a new digital notebook. And I will have to admit, I am quite impressed with the EverNote App for Android. It seems to be created to be used on small screens. Which is great for me, because I love compact phones and use one. In terms of feature both seem to be on equal footing. Like OneNote, EverNote allows me to create notebooks and then tag each note to a specific category. The tagging feature seems really useful and should help me to be better organized! And if that was not enough, EverNote, like it's counterpart, gives its users plenty of text formatting option. However, it is not all glory. EverNote, unlike OneNote, is a freemium App. That means extra features will be made available to the user if the user decides to pay a subscription fee. The free model is really limiting. As it only allows the user to only upload 60mb

MIUI 9 is really good?

Xiaomi like every Chinese Android OEM has modified the Android OS to make it look and feel like an IOS. However, things are slowly starting to change. MIUI 9 continuation on Xiaomi’s journey to differentiate itself from the competition and it also takes some big steps towards a move away from the IOS aesthetics! MIUI 9, at least on my phone is on Android 7.1.2, and for the first time ever! Xiaomi gives us all the features in the latest and greatest version of Android and then adds a few touches of their own. It adds a completely new icon design, which are big improvements over the IOS esque icons of the previous version of MIUI. Not only that there are plenty of goodies in this feature-packed new update! Split mode makes its first appearance on MIUI, it allows you to use multiple apps at the same time. And I will admit to not using it. But, it feels good to have it handy if I need. The feature which I use the most could also be the most minor change in the update. It

Where is files on demand?

T he new fall creators update for Windows promised to bring placeholders back to Onedrive. But, a few of my friends have been complaining to me about not getting the feature upon updating. So, here I am writing this post on how to enable the files on demand feature. The first thing to check is whether or not is the feature activated. To check go to the settings of Onedrive.Select the annotated section on the settings page. Now, what if, the section is not in your settings tab? Well, then you will have to download  the latest version of OneDrive and install it. Once installed restart your PC and check for the feature. Hopefully, the new feature should now be available for you to enjoy!

Play YouTube in background on Android

Play YouTube in the background on Android Let's be honest we all use YouTube to listen to music. And more than often we have the urge to leave the app and continue with our lives while listening to music. But, for that, you have to shell out cash on YouTube red right? Wrong! There are plenty of ways in which you can listen to YouTube while being in other apps. However, all of them require a browser. This is the method which I use. It involves using the Firefox browser and installing a little extension. And walla you can now play YouTube in the background. The extension is called background video play fix .Go to the link and install the addon on your firefox browser from your phone! This option is the one which most of you are going to use. Because it's done through chrome and other chromium browsers. All you have to do is go to YouTube in Chrome and start a song. Then go to the options and tick the request for the desktop site. All you have to do now i

What I think of the Fall Creators Update

Microsoft recently updated Windows 10 and dubbed it the “Fall Creators Update”. And I do not know why they are calling it that! Because it is a small update for everyone! And below are the new features which I found out by myself. The Update focuses on UI tweaks and has introduced the new design language from Microsoft being called Fluent Design. Fluent design won't overhaul the complete Operating System. What it does is add delightful minor touches to the OS, to make it feel more. I personally love the design move being dubbed “Acrylic”, it adds subtle transparency to the Apps, making them look gorgeous. The effect is quite similar to that found in Windows 7. The redesign is still not complete and certain segments of the OS is void of Fluent Design. The other big visible change for the users would be the highly anticipated My People hub. Which I will admit did not live up to the hype! The hub lacks any third party support to date and only has Mail and Skype support. So

Pocket

Pocket Nowadays everyone has more than one computing device. Be it your desktop, laptop, smartphone, 2-1 PC or a tablet, everyone of use at least uses a couple of this devices together in tandem. And everyone needs a good browser to surf the internet ! this leads to a problem. A problem which pocket solves in the most simplistic of ways. I for one use Firefox on my pc and chrome on my phone. As a result it makes it really difficult for me keep a track of my bookmarks ! I mean did save that article on my pc or phone ? Pocket solves that problem by creating extension for popular browsers like Firefox and chrome, in fact it is a built in feature in Firefox ! It simply adds a button called save to pocket( ), by just clicking that button the page which you are currently on will be bookmarked and saved to pocket. Which can then viewed from any device that has the pocket app and is logged in with your pocket account.

Microsoft Land

Recently Microsoft killed of its mobile efforts publically on Twitter. This also meant the death of my favourite mobile OS Windows Phone! While the news of the death of Windows Phone bought with it sadness, time has managed to make me realise that it was necessary. The news of the death of Windows Phone was followed by the news of a new beginning. Microsoft launched a news launcher or home screen for Android and announced that it was bringing Edge to Android and IOS! The made it all clear to me, that Microsoft wanted to survive in the mobile ecosystem like a germ. It wanted to feed off the already established mobile platforms to keep its services alive. It made me ask myself, Why did Android and IOS succeed? The answer: Apple was the first one to the party. Google, however, succeeded for a completely different reason! Google won because they provided services which were popular among the masses. Think about it Google had Gmail, search and YouTube. Three services
